Mr. Money Bags.

Fast cars and even faster women! The cast is in for a high octane episode as they explore the aspects deep pockets offer the single man in Mr. Money Bags, and no better way to get into the zone than with a couple of Lamborghini Gallardos.

Pulling up to the local golf course Maurice’s expectations are dashed by the lack of young talent, hoping for a few babes he’s gutted to find everyone’s over 60, still there’s always the chance of a “mercy fuck.”

Golf poses some unchartered territory for the guys. Kaizer’s got plenty of power and an eye for the ball, he equates his drive with hitting the g-spot, while Maurice and Trevor, well lets just say they’re a fairway off that elusive spot.

The guys seem to be in general agreement discussing the effect money has on a person, but their attitude to wealth varies considerably.

Kaizer believes everyone changes when they get money irrespective of colour, and without it, you’re nothing. Dogmatically he says, “women will put up with bastards because of money, you see it in Cape Town all the time. If you don’t have money, girls don’t even look at you.”

Maurice reckons, “all women are drawn to money, it makes a guy good looking.” As he sees it, “we equate power with financial might because money gives legitimacy, it’s the saddest thing.”

Trevor on the other hand is more philosophical when he says, “the love of money is the root of all evil.” For Trevor, money isn’t a defining factor in a person’s character, although he acknowledges the attractive lure security offers a partner.

Henri’s sees wealth as a vehicle for fun and entertainment. He’s far more enamoured by the nouveau riche who know how to enjoy their money, they know how to be more “vulgar” with it. Henri admits Cape Town is rife with gold diggers, though they’re not always easy to spot, in fact he sometimes considers himself a bit of a gold digger.

This week’s pickup takes place at the Fashion TV Café where the guys pull up in their Lamborghini’s. Maurice is completely stirred by the pulling power of the car, and “not meaning to be shallow” asks “What women, no matter how butt ugly the male drivers is, is not gonna f$%king come from a club like this, bundled straight into the car, by the time you get to the robots, she’s lowered her knickers and he’s grazing her out by the time they get on the freeway?”

The cast finds the venue a bit boring, although Henri manages a quick kiss with, “the girl with black hair, whatever her name was.” The cast decides to head to Jade in search of some more lively action.

Jade is packed with beautiful people, apparently all looking for sugar daddies, though Kaizer finds it uncomfortable. He later notes, “we chase women and when we do we get rejected, thing is to keep trying, it happens all the time.” Maurice has concluded that, “All women are not bitches and all men are not bastards, but you do get a type of male that doesn’t want to settle down so he’ll be prowling those clubs looking for short relationships.” Henri meanwhile is having a party, loving the crazy element Jade offers, and getting intimate with a “f#$kbuddy” called Sam. Trevor reckons money can make people do crazy shit in the name of fun. Trevor finds Jade a bit pretentious making people ultimately unattractive.

Maurice is inclined to think the wealth equation only works in one direction, “there are plenty of very wealthy butt ugly girls that boys wouldn’t go near the world over, but I’ve seen the hottest girls drawn to very plain looking men. All women have a price.”

Date day arrives and Kaizer and Henri find themselves on a powerboat packed with models. Henri’s invited Sam from Jade. Kaizer once again has two girls from Jade in tow, but finds himself distracted by all the eye candy and camel toe. Unbeknown to Kaizer, his previous date, Claudia, is on the boat. She’s clearly unimpressed with Kaizer’s libertine behaviour, though Kaizer feels she’s just “causing kak.” After all, in order to look for the ‘one’ you have to go through all the other women, and some women don’t appreciate that.” Henri vigorously tries to defend Kaizer, but the girls aren’t buying it.

Trevor and go Armin to Cool Running’s Toboggan Fun Park, phallic innuendos and some positional grinding belie the couple’s lack of real intimacy. There’s a tangible chemistry between them, and Trevor’s ready to take it to the next level. The adventurous nature of their date leaves Trevor feeling he might have had more fun than the others, and without blowing loads of cash. When he was younger, Armin felt the attraction to money, cars, but as you get older you experience other things, and you don’t need money to have a good time.

Maurice is set up with a beautiful model, Hannelie, and elects to take her to high tea at the Mount Nelson. Hannelie doesn’t assimilate cost with enjoyment, money is not the most important thing for her, its not the be all and end all, at least not initially, initially its about the attraction. Their game of boule on the Mount Nelson lawns ends up in some light Karate sparing, with Hannelie showing Maurice a few moves, Hannelie thinks Maurice’s somewhat shy approach is cute. Neither party are overly enamoured by the other though, but perhaps this is just first date tentativeness?

As the episode concludes, the guys meet up at Mzoli’s Place, a township eatery, and a sharp contrast with decadence of the Lamborghinis employed in the opening scenes. The guys compare the dates they went on with the simple but excellent eatery and Kaizer poses the question, “would you rather be rich and unhappy or poor and happy?” Trevor quickly dismisses his inquiry, “there is no such thing as rich and unhappy!”
